In XVIII–XIX centuries before a regional and central authority was a problem of accommodation of armies. The armies were placed in the houses of the citizens. Only a small part was in the special buildings. In 1808 Alexander I has signed the decree about creation in the cities of the state the special «room commissions». To their functions concerned drawing up the lists of the houses the towns people and distribution in them the militaries and officials. In this article, the activity «room commissions» is consider on an example the city Saratov.

The person dressed in working special clothes of Stalingrad tractor factory became one of the symbols of the first five-year period. In everyday lives of great construction he was changing the country and simultaneously itself, adjusting the «time forward». In problems of construction and development of new mechanics at a tractor factory, all contradictions and complexities of the accelerated industrialization within the first five-year period were reflected as in a mirror.

The article deals with Zhukovsky’s poem analyzed in the context of notions of Austerlitz battle that existed in Russian society in 1806. Clause is devoted to a problem of creation and activity of Extreme committee of inquiry of Vremennoye Government. In work the reasons of establishment of the committee in March, 1917, its purposes and a problem, and also organizational structure and personnel structure are investigated. The author pays attention that work committee passed in sharp and inconsistent revolutionary conditions. In clause the concept of chairman committee of N. K.

In recent years points concerned with destiny of Russian military archives of a Napoleon war poque draw explorers’ attention more and more often. This is the matter of the fact that archive sources are known quite well and were put into use in science a long time ago. Now we can confidently say that archives of military units and formations starting with battalions and up to headquarters of corpses are lost, except for the archives of the number of Guards’ regiments and of some of the reserve battalions.

The article explores some aspects of the memoir heritage concerning the Russo-Turkish War in 1877–1878 on the Caucasian seat of war. The author analyses the memoirs of G.K. Gradovskii, F. A. Schtokvich, N.P. Betling, M.M. Pozemkovskii, rather seldom mentioned in research literature. The memoirs reveal miscalculations and faults of the Russian headquarters, heroism of the Russian soldier, the War in terms of its ordinary participants: junior officers, privates, doctors, nurses, etc.

Russian peoples were able takes two tasks in war of 1812: 1) to wake up hate against the conqerors and to keep citizens in obedience to the authorites; 2) to carry out wars service as well as regular army. The supreme power was afraid of armed peasants and was not interested to do militia striking army. Peoples activity permitted Tzar to require of rule class to offer their property and not to criticize the political course.The author is analysing secret circulats of the Home office of Russia.1806 and 1812 years the talk tzar with I.

The following article examines functioning of Saratov’s city electoral system in 1871–1892. On the base of many sources (including archive sources) author systematized data about number of voters and their voting, described the organization and particulars of election. An important part of the study is analysis of Saratov city duma’s social structure and enumerating of people who have been elected for many times. The author’s conclusions are connecting with objective reasons of reform of city electoral system in 1892.
