In article attempt of research of a problem of an institutionalizing of representative bodies of the Russian Empire in the course of democratic transformation of a society at the beginning XX-th century in a context of a paradigm of the constitutional cycles

The article deals with the real diplomatic aims of the Great embassy (Velikoe posol’stvo, VP) which were not fully disclosed in the official documents and remained a mystery. We could identify the goals that the «core of the VP» sought to achieve, on the one hand, and the objectives of the pantlers who travelled to the south and the lord steward, B. P. Sheremetev, on the other. It has become evident that the presence of the VP as an observer on the Rijswik Congress was not a random event. We show what was the result of this action for Russia.

In the article is analyzed the documents of the State Archives of Kher- son and Odessa Oblasts. This enables to concretize the influence of French migrants on the economic development of Novorossiyskiy region in this period. Author writes about main sectors of economic activity of foreigners on the south-west of Russian empire in the end of XVIII – the first half of XIX centuries. 

One of the outstanding statemen and public figures of the Russia of the 40s – 60s of the 19th century was Avraam Sergeyevich Norov.He devoted his life to serving Russia which he loved sincerely and unselfishly. In 1812 A. S. Norov, a young boy of 17, defended his Motherland from the enemy. In 1854–1858 holding the post of the Minister of People`s Education he contributed with all his efforts to the development of education in the country. A. S. Norov made a significant contribution to the formation and development of native Oriental Studies.

The materials of zemstvo statistics are a valuable source on the history of the Russian village in the period after the reform. Zemstvo statisti- cians did a colossal work connected with the study of socioeconomic status of peasant households of the country. The most effective meth- od of acquiring primary statistical data was a total house-to-house census of peasant households which was conducted in zemstvo gubernias in the 80th of the XIXth century. The article deals with the mechanism of its conduction and the results.

Highlight the achievements of modern Russian authors to identify and explore key areas, which were implemented in the social ministry of the church during this period, the ways of further research topics. 

The article is devoted to the problems of a daily life of the Saratov Volga Region. The author analyses the living conditions of inmates of children’s homes. The author also examines the level of equipment of institutions of food and household goods. On the basis of archival material and periodicals of then-a-days the original picture of a daily life of a children’s home is reconstructed
