Economic relations between Saratov and Ufa at the turn of the XIX–XX centuries (forest bargaining)

The article shows one of the main directions in economic contacts between Saratov and Ufa – timber trade in the second half of the XIX – early XX centuries. The main source was the reporting of the Ufa branch of the Volga-Kama Commercial Bank, one of the largest private banks of the Russian Empire, whose branches opened in Saratov in 1871, and in Ufa in 1873. The main feature of the Ufa forest trade in Saratov was the use of promissory notes due to the need to quickly sell goods before the end of navigation.

The development of Czech cities in the post-Hussite period as a prerequisite for the emergence of Czech printing

The article attempts to identify the economic prerequisites for the emergence of printing in the Czech Republic. The author analyzes the economic development of Czech cities in the post-Hussite period, analyzes the main privileges that cities were given or confirmed by their owners, as well as the development of crafts and trade in them.

The Ishams’ Family Corporation in London’s Business World in the Second Half of the XVI Century

The article is devoted to one of the most important aspects in England’s history of the second half of the XVI century, in particular, the transformation of the English economy at the beginning of the early Modern Times. The issues of formation and structure of the Ishams’ family corporation which was set up and functioned within the company of the Merchant Adventurers as well as peculiarities of their trade are examined basing on the analysis of «Two Account Books of John Isham».

London and the towns of Continental Europe in the first period of the Hundred Years’ War

The article examines the relations between London and the cities of Continental Europe in the first period of the Hundred Years’ War. It is shown that the beginning of the conflict for the citizens of London was associated with the need to strengthen the security of the city, supply armed detachments, subsidize the crown. London maintained contacts with the cities of Continental Europe, primarily Flanders, “English Gascony” and Normandy.

Raffelstetten Customs Regulations as a Source of the Great Moravia Trade in the IX–X Centuries

The article describes the value of Raffelstetten customs regulations for history of Great Moravia. The Danube trading ways were an important component of Moravian economic development. The studied material led to the conclusion that the trade of Great Moravia was intensive and had a wide geographical area.

How Can English King Become the Sovereign of Flanders? (diplomatic struggle for the county in 2nd half of XIV сentury)

Article deals with the struggle for the County of Flanders between England and France in the second half of the XIV century. It concerns with the changes in their tactic: England and France stopped the warfare for a short period of time and used the means of diplomacy to gain Flanders instead. Members of the Plantagenet (Edmund Langley) and the Valois (Philip the Bold duke of Burgundy) dynasties in their matrimonial policy tried to seek the hand of the heiress of Flanders – Marguerite of Males.

London and the towns of England in 1350–1370: Socio-economic aspect of their relations

The article examines the directions and forms of socio-economic interaction between London and provincial towns of England in 1350– 1370 based on the material of the original sources. It is shown that the main sphere in their relationship was trade, which was implemented in various organizational forms, with extensive use of commodity and monetary credit. Also, the field for interaction was the return of runaway apprentices who left the masters in London and found refuge in different cities of England.

THE ECONOMIC ACTIVITY OF FRENCH SETTLERS ON THE SOUTH-WEST OF RUSSIAN EMPIRE IN THE END OF XVIII – THE FIRST HALF OF XIX CENTURY (ACCORDING OF MATERIALS OF STATE ARCHIVES OF UKRAINE)

In the article is analyzed the documents of the State Archives of Kher- son and Odessa Oblasts. This enables to concretize the influence of French migrants on the economic development of Novorossiyskiy region in this period. Author writes about main sectors of economic activity of foreigners on the south-west of Russian empire in the end of XVIII – the first half of XIX centuries. 

William de la Pole: the Story of the Fall and Success of “Favorite Merchant” of Edward III

The article is dedicated to William de la Pole, an English financier and merchant of the 14th century. The results of the analysis of narrative, documentary sources, as well as modern scientific literature are presented. Activities of W. de la Pole is shown against the background of the socio-economic and political history of England. The characteristic of the early activities of the merchant, his role as a Royal financier and participation and participation in solving the financial and economic problems of the state during the Hundred Years’ War is given.

The main trends of socio-economic development of the newly formed uyezds in the Khoper River Region (Prikhoperye) in the late XVIII and the first third of the XIX centuries

The article examines the dynamics of the population and economic development of the region in the late XVIII and the first third of the XIX century. The author identifies the main trends that determined the direction of social and economic processes that took place during that period and determined the further development of the region.
