This article discusses how in the period of «thaw» in the southern Urals in the Orenburg region and the Bashkiria the theme of the revolution of 1917 is risen in the cultural life. Through the analysis of the media a tendency of the Soviet government towards cinematic coverage of the events of the Great October is revealed. It is established that the appeal to these events in the 50s–60s of the last century were not accidental – a new society needed a «hero of the time». Culture and cinema, in particular, contributed to more «cultu ral» consciousness of the Soviet citizens. The theme of the revolution of 1917 was the most relevant in the 1950s of the last century, by the mid-60s, this topic is less and less «out» to the mass audience. During the «thaw» there were the first time talks about the theatrical art of Orenburg. After analyzing the periodicals of 1953–1964, we can clearly note the dominant role of cinema in covering the theme of the revolution. Interest in this topic has arisen due to the fact, in our opinion, that the revolution of 1917, making a new round in the minds of the people, became the force that contributed to the development of a new citizen of the Soviet Union, which the country badly needed. «Dawn of birth» of the XXI century, our country also needs a new minded citizen of the country. That is why the relevance of this topic has not dried up in society.
