Voivode of Saratov stolnik Prince Ivan Mikhailovich Boryatinsky (1666–1668): Family and service

The article presents for the first time the biography of the Saratov voivode Prince Ivan Mikhailovich Boryatinsky, as well as brief information about his ancestors. Prince I. M. Boryatinsky began his service at the court of Tsar Mikhail Romanov in the late 1630s. As a tenant, and then a Moscow nobleman, he was the voivode of Dankov. Under Tsar Alexei Mikhailovich, he continued his service with the rank of stolnik, was a voivode in Vyazma, participated in the wars against Poland and Sweden, and suppressed the uprising of Stepan Razin.

Government and agricultural cooperation in Russia at the beginning of the XX century

The article examinesthe relationship between government and agricultural cooperation in Russia. First of all,the oppressive activities of the central office, which was represented by various ministries and departments, as well as the activities of the local administration, represented by the Institute of governors, provincial committees on small loans, inspections of small loans at local branches of the State Bank, zemstvo chiefs, and the police are being investigated.

The Governor of Saratov stolnik Danila Varfolomeevich Khitrovo (1659–1660)

The article for the first time presents the biography of the Saratov governor Danila Varfolomeevich Khitrovo, as well as brief information about his ancestors, the Bolkhov landowners. D. V. Khitrovo began his service at the court of Tsar Mikhail Romanov in the late 1630s. as a tenant. During the reign of Tsar Alexei Mikhailovich, he continued to serve as a solicitor, and then as a steward. Particular attention is paid to the Saratov period in the life of D. V. Khitrovo.

«New Saratov Chronicle» about the Events of 1641–1650 in Saratov

The article considers unknown pages of the history of Saratov since a quarter of a century after the restoration of the city at the end of the Time of Troubles on the left bank of the Volga. For the first time, a detailed chronology of all the currently known events that took place in this city in 1641–1650 is presented. The Saratov Chronicle, compiled about 120 years ago, is supplemented over the years, and the main sources on the history of Saratov of this period are also indicated.

Embassy to Georgia of Prince Fyodor Fedorovich Volkonsky and Left-Bank Saratov in 1637–1639

The article considers unknown pages of the history of the left-bank of Saratov. Particular attention is paid to the collapse of the embassy caravan on the Volga near Saratov on October 1, 1639 and to the further actions of Prince F. F. Volkonsky’s Ambassador. For the first time a detailed chronology of the events that took place in this city in the summer of 1637 and in the autumn of 1639 is presented, the Saratov Chronicle compiled 120 years ago is supplemented over the years.The main sources about the history of Saratov of this period are analyzed in detail.

Saratov governor Averky Fedorovich Boltin (1644–1646)

The article for the first time presents a detailed biography of the governor of Saratov, Averky Fedorovich Boltin. This serving man from Arzamas became the steward of Patriarch Filaret, and then a Moscow nobleman. After serving in Saratov, he was a voivode in Tomsk, defended Kiev from the traitor-hetman Ivan Vyhovsky, served in Old Bykhov.

Dagestan aul of the NEP era: Touches of everyday life (the first half of the 1920s)

The article examines rural everyday life in Dagestan in the first decade of Soviet power. On the basis of archival documents, the influence of the NEP on the daily life of the rural population, which turned out to be burdensome for them, is revealed. Despite the class approach, the new tax campaign led to a deterioration in the financial situation of the highlander, since it was carried out without taking into account the specifics of the republic’s agriculture.
