The review is devoted to the useful scientific reference book – the biographical dictionary “The Architects of Saratov”, written by B.N. Donetsky and E.K. Maximov. The authors mention the participation of many well-known Russian architects in the history of building of Saratov. Special attention is paid to those masters, who formed the architectural appearance of the city. The authors of the dictionary rediscover the names of the builders of some famous edifices. Unfortunately the stylistic and artistic peculiarities of works of the Saratov architects are almost not described in the dictionary.
