The article examines the mechanism of political repression against believers by the example of the case of the Moscow neocircular Old Believer clergy. The central figure of the article is the deacon of the Old Believers prayer Ivan Afanasievich Vlasov as a characteristic type of clergyman of the 1930s, a peasant by origin, who was arrested during collectivization, but did not change his faith.

The article describes the reasons that determined the significant role of Russian ethnic culture in the urban socio-cultural environment of Saratov province. Its manifestations in various spheres of city life and, in particular, in the look of these cities are based on written sources. For most county-level cities its influence on the cultural process was dominant. In the main city of the province its features were evident in spiritual and ceremonial life of the general population.

Статья посвящена слабо разработанной в российской историографии проблеме судебного преследования представителей старообрядчества и религиозного сектантства за преступления против православной церкви. Рассматривается судебная практика по делам о противоправных действиях старообрядцев и сектантов. Автор приходит к выводу о том, что судебное преследование старообрядцев и сектантов второй половины XIX – начала XX в. было неэффективным и, как правило, заканчивалось вынесением оправдательного приговора.

В статье автор на материалах Саратовского Поволжья рассматривает политику Советского государства в отношении церкви и религиозных организаций в 1920-е гг. Существенно изменившийся статус церкви регулировался новыми нормативно-правовыми актами советской власти. Большое внимание уделялось антирелигиозной пропаганде, которая была призвана вытеснить из сознания верующих религиозные предрассудки.

The article is dedicated to the issue of the unity of old-believers’ tradition analyzed in the case study of the communities of various branches existing in the Saratov region in the 18th and early 19th centuries.
