The article is devoted to the research of family structure of German settlements in the Volga Region in the middle of XIX-th century, based on the analisys of "Gnilushka" colony in the Kamyshin district of Saratov province. Family structure model of the colony is being studied by the enumeration lists from the point of view of demographic analysis and J. Handzhnal's theory of existence of a unique European-type marriage.

This article deals with the first stages of formation of German colonies on the Volga river in the second half of the 18th – the first half of the 19th centuries. The colonization policy of the government consisted of the whole system of well-thought means and decrees that tended to spread on all sides of internal life of colonists.

The article deals with the history of the Mennonite village life in the Volga Region at the beginning of the XX century, as seen through the prism of the first years of the Soviet power and the Volga region famine of 1921. This article is based on archival documents and historical sources of personal origin – diaries, letters, memoirs, etc.

Автор исследует процесс трансформации идентичности поволжских немцев как локальной этнической группы, происходивший под воздействием идеологии и общественно-политической практики большевизма. С одной стороны, показана насильственная ломка всех сторон традиционного образа жизни, принудительное насаждение новых «социалистических» порядков, а с другой – освещается практика настойчивого политико-идеологического воздействия на сознание людей, прежде всего молодежи, насаждение новых духовных ценностей, коренным образом отличавшихся от традиционных.

В статье раскрыты предпосылки появления немецкоязычного книгоиздания в Саратове и представлен подробный аналитический обзор книг и брошюр на немецком языке, напечатанных в 1846-1916 гг. саратовскими типографиями и типолитографиями И.И. Хворинова, Ф.М. Киммеля, Г.Х. Шельгорна, А.Ф. Винклера, товарищества «Энергия» и др. Представлены сведения о немецкоязычной печати в уездах Саратовской губернии. 

Автор исследует сопротивление немецких крестьян Саратовского Поволжья агрессивной принудительной коллективизации, проводившейся советским коммунистическим руководством на рубеже 1920–1930-х гг. Показаны различные формы сопротивления вплоть до вооруженного восстания, которое произошло в селе Мариенфельд. Несмотря на широкий размах выступлений, они были подавлены властью, а руководители Республики немцев Поволжья в числе первых доложили
Сталину о победоносном завершении коллективизации летом 1931 года.

The author analyzes a short Saratov period of the course of life of a well-known German social democrat Ernst Reuter. According to the directive of the RSFSR Council of Peoples Commissars Chairman V. I. Lenin and Peoples Commissar on Nationalities J. V Stalin a German war prisoner and communist Ernst Reuter was sent to Saratov Volga Region in April 1918 where he became the leader of the Volga Region Commissariat on the Germans.
