Feudalism and the «Highland Problem» in the Public Sphere of Great Britain (1715–1745)

The article analyses representations on the feudal base of political economy in the Highlands of Scotland in the public sphere of Great Britain between the Jacobite rebellions in 1715–1716 and 1745–1746 in the context of solution of the «Highland Problem» through the appeasement, modernization of the region and strengthening loyalty of the Highlanders to the Hannover dynasty and the government in London. 

Soviet experience of increasing production efficiency in the organizations of the oil and gas complex of the Saratov region in the 1950–1980s

The article analyzes the Soviet experience in establishing efficient production and labor activity on the example of the production association “Saratovneftegaz”. Such factors of labor productivity increase as the improvement of the system of management and management of the industry, the choice of methods of labor organization, the assimilation and dissemination of best practices, modernization of production, financial and non-material inc.

The article discusses the social component of the modernization process in the Saratov Volga in the late XIX – early XX centuries within the bourgeois and socialist development model. Peculiarities of Organizing Agricultural Labor and Production in Saratov Region (1965–1975)

The process of organizing agricultural labor and production in Saratov region on the basis of technical modernization and training of industrial personnel is considered in the article. The analysis is based on regulatory documents, archives, statistics and periodicals. 

The Reforming of the fuel-and-energy complex as the key factor of the Chinese modernization in the second half of the 20th century

This paper explores the events of the PRC’s modernization of the 1970-80s, the driving force of which was the Chinese energy sector. For better understanding of the unfolding changes the research provides a comparative analysis of the Mao Zedong and Deng Xiaoping political systems with its key difference lying in the established process of governmental decentralization in the energy sector. The study focuses on the reform of the coal and oil industries.

ОСОБЕННОСТИ ДЕМОГРАФИЧЕСКОГО ПЕРЕХОДА В НИЖНЕМ ПОВОЛЖЬЕ В 1920 – 1930-Е ГГ.

В статье рассматриваются особенности демографического перехода в Нижнем Поволжье в  1920 – 1930-е гг. как составной части модернизации региона. Автор анализирует миграционное движение, динамику численности и половозрастной состав городского и сельского населения, а также административно-правовую роль государства в регулировании этих процессов. 

The Land Forces of Great Britain in the Middle of the 1930s: Problems of Modernization

Traditional views on the role of the army and difficult situation in the country in the 1920s and early 1930s largely contributed to stagnation of the British army. As a result, land forces did not meet the requirements of modern warfare. In response to changes in the European context, the Army General Staff developed a plan for “limited modernization,” but military issues remained in the shadow of Air Force and Navy.

Accelerated Modernization of the “Nomadic” Regions of the USSR: Goals and Objectives (on the Turn of the 1920s and 1930s)

At the turn of the 1920s and 1930s, the modernization program in the USSR took an accelerated character. In the “nomadic” regions of the country, it took the form of sedentarizing nomads along with collectivization. The completion of these processes, according to the authorities, was to solve not only the problems of modernization of the country, but also the problems associated with the presence of a “nomadic civilization” in the USSR, which was not controlled by the state and was unyielding to Sovietization.
