In article unknown pages of history of struggle between Russia, Poland and Sweden in the Time of Troubles are considered. For the first time voivode and diplomat Semeon Gavrilovich Korobyin’s detailed biography is presented. He participated in the revolt of Bolotnikov, and then has come over to the side of Vasily Shuisky, battled against Lzhedmitrij II, released Moscow from Poles in 1611–1612.

The article discusses the question of the Mongol invasion impact on the Central European countries (Poland, Bohemia and Hungary) urban development in the XIII century. It is concluded that the devastating consequences of the invasion accelerated the acceptation a new model of urban system in the Central European region, which was typologically akin to Western European urbanism.

The article highlights political confrontation between the Hetmanate and the Zapoorozhian Sich and an important role of Russian diplomacy, which sought to limit the autonomy of Ukraine. The author shows that political orientation of the hetmans could vary depending on the political environment. The Russian government skillfully used contra- dictions between different political forces and Moscow diplomats in order to eliminate the Hetmanate autonomy.

The review presents the analysis of S. V. Kretinin’s monograph, which examines the problem of the German national minority in Poland in the interwar period (1918–1939). The importance of the research done by the historian, the features of the author’s approach are noted, the discussion issues are indicated. According to the reviewer, S. V. Kretinin’s monograph essentially opens up new prospects for studying the history of the Germans in Poland.
