Work G.I. Chernyshevsky over Drawing up of «The ChurchHistorical and Statistical Description of the Saratov Diocese» (1850–1856)

Drawing up in the middle of XIX in history-statistical descriptions of dioceses across all Russia under the Synod project was the important stage in development of regional history and study of local lore. On the basis of archival materials resulted in article it is possible to track a technique of work of archpriest G.I. Chernyshevskii over drawing up of statistical research on stories of the Saratov diocese.

Article is devoted a creation problem in Saratov parish and district spiritual schools. On the basis of archival materials difficulties of the first years of formation of system of vocational training of clergy in the beginning of XIX century Materials of archival documents which are published for the first time reveal, allow to show merits of known Saratov educators N. G. Skopin and G. I.

Religious practicesof the clergyin the discourseof theimplementationof anti-religious policyin themid-1920s (basedon thematerials of the Samara Province)

This article is motivated to study the process of constructing Soviet society and reconstructing the everyday practices of representatives of religious organizations of the Samara province, who used various ways to counteract the implementation of anti-religious policy pursued by the authorities. The results of the study illustrate various practices used by representatives of various faiths against the anti-religious policy of the Soviet government in order to stop the process of destruction of the religious worldview of the population and consolidate their supporters.

Social Image of London of the 14th Century through the Wills

The article on the material of wills examines the social side of the life of Londoners in the era of the late Plantagenets. The author finds out that the majority of testaments refers to a professional community: to merchants and mongers, to artisans and workers in the service sector, as well as to the nascent intelligentsia and administrative apparatus. These categories are disproportionate – the majority of testators belong to the merchants and craftsmen of the townspeople.

Features of the existence of the Orthodox Church in China in the first half of the 1950s according to documents of State Archive of the Russian Federation

The article describes the peculiarities of the existence of the Orthodox Church in China during a difficult period, when the main carriers of the Orthodox faith – emigrants, immigrants from the territory of the former Russian Empire left the country. The research was based on archival sources, as well as some available publications. The author shows that in the early 1950s Orthodoxy in China began to decline. The idea of creating an independent Chinese Orthodox Church, which will be implemented in the future, also dates back to this time.
