This article is devoted to the American policy toward Turkey in the 1980s. The special attention is paid to the influence of the «perestroika» in the USSR on changing Ankara`s role in the foreign policy of Washington. The article shows competition between ethnic lobbies and the Reagan administration for the right to determine the direction of the American-Turkish relations.

В статье рассматривается сирийская политика США в период правления двух администраций Б. Клинтона. Автором даются
характеристика и анализ основных событий, направлений взаимодействия и подходов администрации, Конгресса и представителей других групп интересов, оказывавших влияние на осуществление политики в отношении Сирии в рассматриваемый период.

The article considers the policy of George H. W. Bush Republican administration towards Egypt. The author analyzes the background, factors of formation, evolution and results of the U.S. Egyptian policy during the period under review.
