In this article theoretical reconstruction of staying Russian princes at a court of the khan of Golden Horde in XIII–XV centuries is offered. This work is based on the analysis of Russian chronicles accounts, notes of the Arabian, Chinese and West European travellers.
The article is devoted to the study of medieval Scandinavian and domestic narrative sources for information about the peculiarities of the military confrontation and interaction between the Varangians and Ancient Rus.
