Англия «Великого века» и проблемы военного строительства (1603–1714)

Аннотация: 

В статье рассматривается развитие идеи и института постоянной армии в Великобритании эпохи Стюартов. На примере английской милитаризации показан процесс складывания военно-фискального государства на Британских островах. Основным политическим событием, приведшим к созданию регулярной армии, стала гражданская война. Флот был порожден противостоянием с Соединенными Провинциями и Францией. Формулируется вывод, согласно которому процесс милитаризации Англии XVII в. был важной частью государственной политики – как Короны, так и ее оппонентов.
